Superintendent's Message - CCS Update - September 23, 2021

Greetings Campbell County Families,

Presented below is my most recent update, providing important information about Campbell County Schools.  I would like to invite you to read this information at your earliest convenience.

Important Dates:

Tomorrow, September 24th, schools will be closed to students for a scheduled professional planning day.

Fall Break will occur the week of October 11th through October 15th.

I hope our families can enjoy a restful three-day weekend!

Board of Education Meeting - Brief Notes from Monday's Meeting

Please see this link to the Board Brief from this month's regular meeting.

District COVID Numbers:

Please see the number of students who are positive or in quarantine right now.  This data looks much better this week.  We have nearly 100 fewer absences from school this week versus last and 60 fewer students exposed outside of school.  We still have 46 students who are positive, and quite a few at the elementaries. The Test to Stay program, which we began administering this week has been effective in keeping some students in school, who would have otherwise been forced to quarantine.

Incidence Rates:

REGIONAL RATES, as published daily by the Kentucky Department of Public Health (KYCOVID):

The county incidence rate has dropped again from last week!  We are now down in the 40s!!.

CAMPBELL RATES by ZIP, as published daily by the Northern Kentucky Health Department (NKY Health):

The NKY map, shows a really high incidence rate in much of the area served by Campbell County Schools. These are beginning to fall as well, but several of our zip codes are still REALLY HIGH, while others have dropped significantly.

I hope this information has been useful.

Again, I want to thank you for your continued trust and support.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

David A. Rust, Superintendent
