Reiley Beta Club Has Heart for Service

The Reiley Beta Club proved they possess “hearts of service”  by completing service projects throughout the year.  Their hard work allowed them to raise money to donate $500.00  to both  Autism Speaks and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation donation.  Autism Speaks was chosen because Katie Ruschman, parent of a Reiley student with autism  has raised money and donated numerous items to Reiley’s autism unit.  These items (5 iPads with covers, iPad keyboards, an inkjet printer, ink, Velcro, pencil weights, and thick pencils) help remove barriers for students with autism.  The students felt it was a priority to give back to this generous group by donating to their team for the recent Cincinnati Walk Now for Autism Speaks, which promotes awareness and research for autism.  The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) was selected as the other group to receive a $500 donation because one of the Beta Club members has diabetes.  She will participate in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes to help raise money for research and spread awareness for the disease.  The Beta Club felt it was imperative to show support for one of their own.  Way to go, Reiley Beta Club!
