CCHS Academic Team Excels

The Campbell County High School Academic Team took the first step to the State Tournament by winning the Championship of the 36th District Governor’s Cup competition, held at Calvary Christian. This was the 15th consecutive year that CCHS won the District Championship. Other schools involved were Highlands, Brossart and Bellevue. The team of Jenna Garofolo (captain), Jared Wittrock, Andrew Perrin and Clayton Truman totally dominated in quick recall, winning all three matches by a comfortable margin. In written assessments, Jenna Garofolo took 1st Place in both Language Arts and in Arts & Humanities. Her scores tied for 1st in the state on both tests. Jared Wittrock won 1st Place in math with the 7th highest score in the state. In social studies, Andrew Perrin and Clayton Truman tied for 1st Place. In science, Jared placed 2nd and Clayton placed 4th. Other state qualifiers included Drake Boling and Hannah Reis, 2nd and 4th  respectively in Language Arts, Hayden Hiller, 2nd in Arts & Humanities, and Nicholas Dorsey and Sean Field, who placed 3rd and 4th respectively in math. In composition, Hannah Hudson was 2nd and Andrew Perrin was 3rd. The Future Problem Team also took 1st Place. Great job, Camels!
