The purpose of the Counselor's Corner is to share what counseling services are offered at Grant's Lick Elementary, as well as promote communication between the school counseling program, students, parents, and community.
School Counseling Mission - assist each student, everyday, in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers, and lifelong learners.
School Counseling Vision - As GLE's school counselor, I am a student advocate and partner in student achievement. I believe all humans:

- deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
The purpose of GLE's school counseling program is to assure that ALL students acquire and demonstrate competencies in academic, career, and social/emotional development as they learn to live happy and healthy lives in an ever-changing world.

What is a School Counselor?
School counselors work with all students, school staff, families, and members of the community as an integral part of the education program. School counseling programs promote school success through a focus on academic achievement, prevention and intervention activities, advocacy, and social/emotional and career development (ASCA).
What do Counselors do?
- Provide direct counseling services to students individually and in support groups.
- Provide education and supportive services to parents.
- Provide consultation services to teachers.
- Facilitate referrals to community and support services.
- Advise students on academic planning and scholarship opportunities.
- Provide career guidance to students.
- Network with post-secondary institutions.
As GLE's school counselor, I am committed to delivering a comprehensive school counseling program to ALL students at GLE. I hold a Rank I in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Master's degree in School Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences/Secondary Education from Northern Kentucky University. I am proud to be a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a member of the American School Counseling Association (ASCA).
