At Crossroads, we are very proud of our music program. We are exited about the music learning and music making of our students. Our Crossroads music program is based on the principles of Orff-Schulwerk: Children learn music through the integration of music, speech, movement, and drama. Through playful experiences, children learn music through behaving in musical ways: by creating, listening, and performing.
During this time of Nontraditional Instruction (NTI), my goal is that students continue to study music through making music making at-home. On this web page, I have included various lessons and resources for children that encourage active music making at home.
Tentative timeline for completing lessons:
- Week of March 19 - NTI Lesson One
- Week of March 23 - NTI Lesson Two
- Week of March 30 - NTI Lesson Three
- Week of April 13 - NTI Lesson Four
- Week of April 20- NTI Lesson Five
- Week of April 27- NTI Lesson Six
- Week of May 4- NTI Lesson Seven
I am available by email- firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 859-441-9174 to answer questions, provide assistance or enrichment. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
My hope is that during this time, children can make music at-home with their families. I love teaching music, and I will miss making music with students in-person. Please do hesitate to contact to simply say hello or sing a song together!
