Kentucky State Quarter - Ms. Stamm & Ms. Gross
Students read biographies and write a letter to the governor of Ky. recommending a famous Kentuckian's picture to appear on the quarter.

Eyewitness World 1940-1960 - Ms. Goad & Ms. Eyerman
Students are asked to research a selected person from the 1940-1960 era. They must then write a resume for that person and develop a presentation promoting their candidate as the most worthy to receive the "Witness to the World" award.

The Great and Wonderful YOU - Ms. Gross & Ms. Stamm
NASA has asked children from all over the world to contribute to a project they are working on. Each person will be asked to create an autobiographical sketch. You will draw a symbolic self-portrait, take a digital picture, and write your own autobiography to send with the shuttle on this new, exciting mission.

SCIENCE

Sharks
A webquest in which students can explore many types of sharks.

Mt. Everest - Ms. Libcap
A simulated trip to Mt. Everest with selecting gear and equipment that would be best to use. A comparison of what they used years ago and today. A simulated map of the best route.

Water - Ms. Hart (with assistance)
Why is clean water important to me? What can I do to protect the waters around me? This Web Quest explores the water cycle, a pond ecosystem and the way we misuse water. After completing a spreadsheet and database, students write a letter home to encourage conservation practices. When all work is completed, students are rewarded with a Jeopardy game containing information found in the Web Quest.

Electricity - Ms. Englert
This webquest is an electrifying challenge, where students are required to research both current and static electricity and its dangers. Students prepare a powerpoint presentation, poster and conduct an experiment to demonstrate their knowledge of electricity.

Solar System - Ms. Spencer
In this webquest, students will visit all nine planets and gather information that will help them decide on which planet they will build a space station.

Eruption and Volcanoes - Mr. Mercer
Students will study various parts of the volcano and have to make the decision as to whether they should evacuate the city or if it is OK to stay.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Explorers of Kentucky - Ms. Schmidt
This webquest is designed to make learning about the explorers of Kentucky more exciting. The students visit a variety of websites pertaining to the explorers of Kentucky, then they complete a WebWorksheet answering questions about each explorer.

Cargo - Ms. Hart
In 1835, Mark Twain takes students on a trip down the Missouri River, with all of its trials and tribulations. The cargo and the people on the boats are the focus of the trip. Students have the choice of writing a transactive piece or a diary entry based on their work.

Presidents - Ms. Listerman
Students help Barney and Spot (the new President's dogs) dig up information about past Presidents of the United States. Students will use the information they find to complete a fact sheet and create a 6 slide PowerPoint. The last slide will include a diamante poem which will express what they have learned about their chosen President.

Appalachia (Kentucky)- Ms. Bain
When you think of the Appalachian region, do you picture washing machines out on the front porch of every cabin and a place where everyone is poor and no one goes to school? You have been hired as an image consultant for the region. Your job is to help create a brochure to showcase Appalachia and disprove the sterotypes of this region.

Students must research one of the three geographical regions of the original thirteen colonies. Acting as a realtor, they must create an advertising brochure and make a "sales pitch" promoting their area as the best region for new settlement.

The Underground Railroad - Ms. Burns
The Underground Railroad was not underground and it was not a railroad. Students will learn about the Underground Railroad and write a play or a song about the experiences of a slave on the Underground Railroad.

Inventors - Ms. Pack
Research inventions and the impact that they have had on our society. Then, create an invention that will impact the lives of future generations.

Our Fifty Great States - Ms. McGinnis
Choose one of our "Fifty Great States" to research. After completing your research, create a travel brochure about that state.

Australia - Ms. Bain & Ms. Carr
Learn all about "The Land Down Under" and create a travel brochure encouraging others to visit this country.

Colonial Journey - Ms. Pack
After a grueling three month journey, you and your family have finally arrived at the New World. You must determine which colonial region would be most appropriate for you and your family to settle.

Kings Island, Weather - Ms. Spencer
You have been hired by Kings Island as one member of a team that will decide the best place to build their new amusement park. You will need to persuade them that the site you have chosen would be the best location for the amusement park.

Kentucky Hall of Fame - Ms. Siple
