The department's first production will be The Diviners on Nov. 12-14.

Principals get all wet

Campbell County Schools' principals will get wet for a good cause on Aug. 28. The principals and other school staff, including Superintendent Anthony Strong, will climb into the dunk tank at the third-annual Dunk the Principal event to benefit Special Olympics. The event, which will be held in the Alexandria Shopping Center, will also include food, music, face painting, games and a silent auction.

Crossroads gets fit

Crossroads Elementary in Cold Spring has been awarded funding from the Northern Kentucky Health Department’s incentive funds program for Wii/Wii Fit Gaming System for the 2010-2011 school year. The gaming system will be integrated into the curriculum to show students alternative methods to staying fit.

Boosters host cookout

The Camel Athletic Boosters will host the first Camel Kick-Off Cookout on Sept. 17 at Bob Miller Stadium outside the south ticket booth entrance. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature hot dogs and soda along with live music by the Dirty Tree Tribe 2. Come tailgate to cheer on the Camels first home game against NCC.

Camel families can also purchase a yard sign to show their Camel pride. Signs are $10 each and will be sold throughout the school year.

Golf Outing benefits youth football

Support the Campbell County Youth Football League by participating in the 2nd annual golf scramble on Sept. 25 at Flagg Springs Golf Course. Cost is $70 per golfer and includes lunch, golf, dinner and drinks. Those not wanting to play can still enjoy dinner for $20 each. If interested, contact Scott Chitwood at uofkwldcts@insightbb.com to reserve your spot.

Hole sponsors are still needed. Cost is $50 which includes a hole banner.

Buy a pass and join the Boosters

For a limited time, athletic passes for adults are being reduced. The passes, which typically cost $75 each, are currently being sold for $65 and includes a membership to the Camel Athletic Boosters organization. Passes and membership forms will be available at the ticket booth of the first home games of all fall sports. Cash or checks are accepted.

Students take to the stage

Incoming 7th grade students Sydney Stamm and Taylor McGrath spent a part of their summer on the stage acting with Theater in the Loop. Each had a part in the musical All Shook Up which was performed at the Anderson Center. Though 19 different schools were represented, they were the only two from Kentucky. Way to go girls!
