Our District

Superintendent R. Anthony Strong

As we start the 2009-10 school year, I am more encouraged than ever about the possibilities for our schools and our students. Recent years have proven our strategic changes in curriculum have been, and continue to be, successful. Testing has shown our students are advancing at a quicker pace than the state average. This year we will continue to find ways to further engage and teach our students.

Last year we forged into the arena of Professional Learning Communities, a learning model which better unites our staff in their commitment to student learning. The benefits of PLCs reach staff and students alike including a reduced isolation of teachers, better informed and committed teachers, and academic gains for students. We expect to see even greater successes with the program this year.

We will also maintain our push for staff to do Whatever It Takes to reach each and every student in the district. We know that learning isn’t limited to the classroom, but takes place in every aspect of a child’s life. Each member of our staff is encouraged to reach out to our students, finding ways to influence them both in and out of the classroom.

Whatever is Takes is much more than a slogan for Campbell County Schools. It is a mission that we take seriously and one that we take literally. We view it as a pledge that each staff person in our schools will do Whatever It Takes to reach our students.

Please use this calendar as a resource to provide you with information about our schools and the programs and activities planned for the 2009-10 school year. While we will do Whatever It Takes to reach our students, we cannot be completely successful without the involvement of our parents and the community.
