Congratulations Camels!

Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams for qualifying for the State Championship!

11/18/09
The rampaging Campbell county varsity academic team won their 7th consecutive match without a loss in league play. After slugging it out to a 17-16 halftime lead, they rolled to a 44-22 win as Ryan Moran chalked up 18 points. The JV marched to a 29-21 win, as Ryan Field, Mackezie Rich, and Rachel kinter scored 7,6, and 5 points respectively. the freshmen were unable to overcome the absence of one of their starters and a poort set of questions, losing despite 9pts from Jenna Garofolo.

The CCHS JV Team received notice on Saturday that they are among the Top JV Team in the state, by totally dominating the JV Challenge Regional at Fleming County High School. The quick recall team was undefeated, led by Jenna G, Jared W and Ryan F. In Lauguage Arts written assessment, Jenna G and MacKenzie R took 1st and 2nd in Arts and Humanities. Jared W and Nicholas D took 1st and 2nd in Math, with Kenny S placing 5th. Jared's score was among the top scores statewide. Social Studies was a clean sweep for CCHS, with Nicholas D and Andrew P tied for 1st and Jared W 3rd. In Science, Ben H won 4th place with Ryan F 5th place. Congratulations JV Team!

Congratulations to the Speech and Debate Team! They won 4th place in their division at the Susan Moore Invitational in Scott County. Megan B placed 3rd in impromptu speaking, and Sarah S placed 7th in prose.

The CCHS Academic Team paticipated in the Vanderbilt Academic Tournament in Nashville on Friday and Saturday. Facing some of the top teams from the southeast U.S., the Varsity team won 3 and lost 2 on Saturday, earning the 9th seed and qualifying for the playoff round. The Varsity was led by captin Toby H., and Chris G. and Mackenzie P.The JV team, playing against both Varsity and JV teams, played close matches with several of the top teams, earned the 7th seed and tied for 5th in the playoff round.

Congratulations to the boys cross country team who placed 3rd in Region on Saturday and advancing to the State meet this coming weekend. Robbie S. swept the course and finished 1st for a regional title. This is the first Camel to win a regional title since 1987, congratlations Robbie in breaking a 22 year draught! Ben R. was another Camel award winner, finishing 10th and earning a regional medal!

Congratulations to the Lady Camels Cross Country Team who competed well in Region on Saturday. The girls finished 4th, securing a spot for the state race next weekend! Taylor R. ran an outstanding race and finished 2nd to become the Regional runner up! Way to go Taylor!

Next up for the running Camels is the State on Saturday at the Horse Park in Lexington. Good luck Runners!

Congratulations to the CCHS speech team who placed 3rd in their division this weekend at the Harrison County Gift of Gab Tournament. Toby H placed 6th in oratory, qualifying him for the state tournament. Megan B placed 7th in impromptu.

Playing without their captain for most of the match, the CCHS Varsity Academic Team still subdued a strong Cooper Team by a score of 37-26. Chris G and Toby H led scoring with 7 points each, and Jenna G scored 6 points in her Varsity debut. Seven players scored in the JV teams 38-18 rout, with Jared W and Rachel K leading the way with 6 points and 4 points respectively.

Congratulations to Megan B for placing second in the FBLA Battle of the Chapters competition yesterday at Eastern Kentucky University.

The Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky asked some of our students to design and create masquerade masks for their annual fundraiser auction.  Congratulations to JoJo B., Jessica W., Natasha T., and Katie F.  Their masks are on display currently at the Barnes and Noble on the Levee and will be auctioned off later this month.  Please take a moment to congratulate these girls on their artwork and their willingness to help out a charity with their talents. 

Congratulations on another successful weekend for the Band of Pride. The CCHS Marching Band placed first in class 5A in both prelims and finals at Boone County on Saturday! This proves the Campbell County Band of Pride is the best 5A in Nothern Kentucky, congratulations!!!!

Congratulations to Anne Marie D for being named to the All Northern Kentucky Girls Soccer 1st team and for being named as the N. Ky. "Defensive Player of the Year" by the N.Ky Girls Soccer Coaches Association. Congratulations to Kaitlin B for being named to the 2nd team and Amy N for winning honorable mention.

We would like to congratulate our boys soccer team for a great season. We would also like to congratulate Brady K and Alexx B for making the District Tournament team and Cody N and Alexx B for being named to the Regional Tournament team.

Congratulations to the Lady Camels Varsity Volleyball on their victory last night over Harrison County. Natalie P led in kills, Kennedy B in serves and Chandler G in assist. Please come out and show your Camel Pride tonight as we face NCC in the regional finals here at 7pm.

Over Fall Break, 20 art students from Ms. Noe's and Mr. Harmon's classes competed in the Covington's Art Off Pike School art show. Tara R was awarded honorable mention for her drawing and Jessica W was awarded 3rd place for her relief sculpture.

Congratulations to the Lady Varsity Volleyball Team on their victories Tuesday and Thursday evenings last week to capture yet another district title. Congratulations to Jessica P, Jenna C, and Natalie P on being named to the district all tournament team. In addition, Natalie P was named the 10th region player of the year. Please join us Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm at CCHS when we begin our quest for a regional championship.

The girls' Varsity Soccer Team beat Villa Madonna 2-0 on Wed and ended the regular season with 10 wins, 2 losses, and 3 ties. Kaitlin B scored both goals in the win. The team starts district play at 1 PM Sunday against Bellevue at home.

Academic team

The Campbell County High School Academic Team had their most impressive day of the young season. The Varsity Team remained unbeaten in league play, steamrolling Dixie 46-21. All starters scored multiple points, with Ryan M scoring 13. The JV Team won 22-13 as Ryan F and MacKenzie R scored 7pts and 6pts respectively. The Freshmen blasted Dixie 28-10. Jenna G scored 6 and Andrew P scored 4pts.

Congratulations to the girls' Varsity Soccer Team for beating Ryle
2-0 on Monday night. Anne Marie D and Kaitlin B had the goals. Julie A had an assist and Megan R had the complete game shutout. The JV tied Ryle 1-1 on a goal by Michaela H.

Band of pride

Congratulations to the Band of Pride on an outstanding weekend in Mason County. The band came in second in class 5A, fourth out of 15 bands on the day, and were less then three points out of first place. The band scored an 85 in finals and broke 90 in a caption for the first time in three years. Wish the band good luck this weekend as they were invited to travel to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the Vanderbilt Marching Invitational against the best bands in the Southern United States. Good Luck!

Lady Camels Soccer

The girls' soccer varsity tied Bishop Brossart 2-2 on Saturday. Lynsey L and Amy N had the goals. The Lady Camels led most of the game until Brossart tied it with less than 10 minutes left.

The Freshman girls' soccer team beat the previously unbeaten Brossart Freshman team 1-0 on a goal by Molly K. Kylyn S had the complete game shutout in the goal. Way to go Lady Camels!

Lady Camels Volleyball

Congratulations to the Lady Camels Varsity Volleyball Team on winning the Silver bracket at the JCIVT this Saturday in Louisville.

Congratulations to the girls' varsity soccer team for tying the Notre Dame Pandas 0 - 0 on Weds night.  The Pandas are ranked 2nd in the state and prior to Wed. night the Lady Camels had never in history managed a tie or win against the Pandas. Megan R. had 7 saves in the goal while the defensive back four of Sarah C., Carolynn D., Taylor R., and sweeper Anne Marie D. played flawlessly.

Congratulations to the boys' and girls' cross country teams who won the Campbell County Championships yesterday. This is a meet made up of all the high schools in Campbell County.  In this meet, they add the girls' and boys' team scores together to have an overall champion.  Leading Campbell County in the boys' race were: Robbie S. in first place and Kyle C. in 4th place.  Leading the Lady camels were Taylor R. in 1st place, Sarah R. in 3rd place, and Jessica H. in 10th place.  The Camels ran strong and will now hold the perennial trophy for a year!

The CCHS Academic Team won 2 out of 3 matches yesterday against arch-rival, Simion Kenton. In the varsity match, Simon Kenton stormed to a 22-13 half-time lead. In the second half, however, the CCHS "comeback kids" mounted a furious attack as Chris G's 8 points and Ryan M's 6 points powered the Camels to a 39-31 win. The JV lost a close match, 29-11 win. Jenna G. led scoring with 9 points

Congratulations to Tara R who won 1st place in the Kentucky "State Employees Make A Difference" poster contest. Special thanks also to Ms. Noe who provided this opportunity to her students. Tara and her parents will attend a special ceremony in Frankfort later this month.

The Camels boys golf team ended their regular season with a 170-186 win over Holy Cross. The Camels were led by Brandon "Crash" B with a 39. The Camels play in the Regional Tournament, Monday at Eagle Creek Country Club.

The CCHS academic opened regular season play with 3 big wins over Boone County yesterday. The Varsity battled to a 30-24 win, led by Ryan M 16 points. The JV team racked up an impressive 26-14 win, with Ryan F scoring 9 points and Jennifer W 5 points. The Freshman blasted to a 36-12 romp. Andrew P scored 8 points, with Jenna G and Jared W scoring 6 each.

The boys' golf team defeated Grant County, 160-167, at A.J. Jolly. The Camels top scorer was Brad F. with a 38, Dalton G. shot a 40 and Brandon B. added a 41. Sam M. shot a 42 and freshman Andrew P. shot his season's best score with a 48. The Camels take on Highlands tomorrow at Hickory Sticks.

The girls' varsity and JV soccer teams both beat Pendleton County on Monday night. The Varsity won 3-0 while the JV won 6-0. Kaitlin B, Amy N, and Carolynn D scored for the varsity while Megan R recorded another complete game shutout in the goal. Kimmy K scored twice for the JV while Kristen R, Alex P, Molly K and Mackenzie H all scored once. Catrina L, Michaela H, Sydney W, and Miranda K had the assists for the JV.

Congratulations to the girls' freshman soccer team that beat St. Henry 1 - 0 on Saturday on a goal in the second half by Kristin M.

Congratulations to the Band of Pride! The CCHS marching band came in second place in class 5A in their first contest on Saturday. They also recived the award for best visual performance in 5A in Prelims. In finals, the band came in 5th place overall with a great performance. This is just the start to another successful season for the Campbell County Band of Pride!

The Varsity and JV academic teams opened season play at the Danville Academic Tournament, competing against some of the top teams in the state. The Varsity Team, catained by Ryan M, won 5 out of 9 matches, including a breath taking come from behind win over Simon Kenton. The JV team, with captin Jenna G, took 2nd place in the JV division, losing only to Dunbor.

Congratulations to our boys soccer team who defeated defending state runner-up Highlands 2-1 on Thursday Sept. 10. Derrick M. scored the first goal to tie the game up in the second half. Colton T. put in the winning goal of an assist from Mason L. for the victory over the Bluebirds

The girls' varsity soccer team beat Holmes 10-0 on Wednesday to up their record to 6-1-1 for the year. Amy N., Kaitlyn B., Anna C., Anne Marie D., Shelby D., Julie A., Chelsea K., and Bridget D. all scored! The team had 40 total shots for the game.

The boys golf team defeated Walton, 176-180 yesterday. First time medalist, Dalton G, led the Camels into a 42 on the front nine at Flag Springs.

Kaitlin B had a hat trick to lead the varsity girls' soccer team to a 7-0 win over Scott on Monday. Amy N, Carolynn , Lynsey L, and Anne Marie D added a goal each. Assists were made by Carolynn D, Bridget D, Lynsey L, and Anna C. The Lady Camels found the net 7 times in 30 shots. Megan R and Kaitlyn R combined for the shutout in the goal.

The JV beat Scott 4 - 0 on two first half goals by Alex P and single goals by Chelsea W and Jessica G.

Girls Soccer: Anne Marie D. hit a rocket into the goal on a free kick with 2 minutes remaining as the varsity team tied 1-1 the 6th ranked team in the state, West Jessamine. Megan R. had 8 great saves in the goal.

The JV played an excellent 2nd half to tie West Jessamine 0-0. Kylyn S. and Mackenzie H. combined for the shutout in the goal. Brittany S., sweeper, lead the defensive effort.

The girls soccer varsity team stayed undefeated (4-0 on the year) by beating Dixie 2-0.  Kaitlin B. scored 7 minutes into the game off a free kick by Anne Marie D. Any N. scored late in the first half. Megan R. recorded a complete game shutout in the goal. The team plays 6 th ranked West Jessamine on Saturday.

The JV team tied Dixie 1-1 on a 2nd half goal by Sydney W.

The girls' varsity soccer team went 3 and 0 on the year beating Simon Kenton 2 - 1 on Monday. Lynsey L. and Kaitlyn B. scored the goals. Anne Marie D. had both assists. Megan R. made a big save late in the game to seal the victory.

The freshman team started their season beating Simon Kenton 3 - 0. Molly K. had two goals and Rachel C. had one.

The varsity girls' soccer team beat Harrison County 2 to 0 on Wednesday. Amy N. and Carmen S. scored the 2 goals. Megan R. had the shutout in the goal. The team is 2 and 0 on the year. The JV team was ahead 1 to 0 on a goal by Catrina L. when the JV game was called for lightning.

The Boys Golf team defeated Simon Kenton yesterday 173-183. Brandon B. was medalist with a 40 on the front nine at AJ Jolly. Dalton G. recorded a 41 for the Camels.

The Girls Varsity and JV each started the season out with a win against Conner on Monday. The Varsity won 4 to 0 with 2 goals by Kaitlin B. and one each by Lynsey L. and Carmen S. Anna C., Amy N., and Anne Marie D. had the assists. Megan R. and Kaitlyn R. combined for the shutout in the goal. The JV won 2 to 0 with goals by Michaela H. and Sydney W. Kylyn S. and Mackenzie H. had the shutout in the goal.

Brad F. was co-medalist in Wednesday's golf match, shooting a four over par 39 on the front nine at A.J. Jolly against Mason Co. The Camels lost the match to Mason but tied Brossart and lost to Newport Central Catholic last night in a tri-match at Hickory Sticks. The Camels Sam M. was co-medalist with a 41 on the front nine.

FBLA traveled to Anaheim, California this summer for our National Leadership Conference.  The following students placed in the top of our nation!!!  Please congratulate them on their outstanding accomplishment!
