CUSTOMER SERVICE SURVEYS – CONSIDERING OUR NEXT MOVE FORWARD!

While many consider our public schools a function of government or a social institution, many of us in the business consider our jobs to be one of service.  Service to the parents.  Service to students.  Service to business owners and to local communities.  When looking at the mission statements of any high school or school district, it is by no mistake that they almost all focus on the successful transition of graduates to the workforce, to post-secondary education, to the military and ultimately as contributing members of society.

Campbell County is no different.  As you’ve likely seen or heard through our published mission statement, we do Whatever It Takes for our students to be successful in transition to college, career and life.  To meet this ongoing mission, we have embarked on a fact-finding mission to ensure that we provide a high quality education to our students and with that, high quality customer service to our parents, students, business owners and local community.  To support our efforts this fall, we initiated a customer service survey of our parents and community to identify areas of success and areas of growth.

Our survey campaign took place during the month of October.  We collected over 1300 responses, mostly from parents and guardians but also from some community members.  It is our goal to administer this survey on an annual basis to inform our needs assessment process and identify progress as a district.  We know this information may open us to greater scrutiny and added criticism, but recognize that owning our successes and failures is how we get stronger…. and continual growth is our GOAL!!!

For each school and the district, we identified the five highest rated survey questions and the five lowest rated survey questions based on responses.  The highest rated questions will be celebrated by schools while the five lowest rated questions will drive action planning and improvement steps.  These data will be shared on the district and school websites, posted in the schools and discussed among staff members at each school.  School principals evaluated their data last week and will consider actions to take and document in their school improvement plans. Our goal is to update the data annually as new customer service surveys are completed and information provided.

Listed below are the outcomes for the district and each school on this year’s survey:
