LANGUAGE ARTS

Good News:   Our poetry unit will be wrapping up in 2 weeks and then we will start on an Informational unit (persuasion and propaganda and reflective writing).

What We’ll Be Doing This Week:

 Monday:  Imagery/writing portfolio

Tuesday:   Repetition in poetry/Edgar Allan Poe/writing portfolio

Wednesday:  Narrative poetry/writing portfolio

Thursday:  ORQ review and strategies/writing portfolio

Friday:  Figures of speech/poetry/writing portfolio

Reminders:

"Book Blizzard" continues with my classes making a huge surge -- We’re now in the lead for the whole school!  As this encourages reading and makes sure students have books to read in case of snow days, we will continue going to the library weekly.  Keep up the good work!!

JR. BETA CLUB

The Jr. Beta Club will be attending the state convention held in Louisville on March 4th  and 5th.   The state convention gives members the opportunity to interact, share project ideas, and showcase their academic and leadership abilitites.  Activities include academic, arts and crafts, and talent competitions.

Judging was held and students were selected to compete in various categories at the state convention.  Congratulations to the 7th grade winners who will be attending

Our “Be A Water Warrior"  drive for the people of Haiti was a huge success.  All bottled water will be delivered to the people of Haiti through Matthew 25 Ministries of Cincinnati.  Done in conjunction with other Campbell County schools, CCMS  collected over 2,000 bottles of water.  Because of meeting our goal, Mr. Sandlin and Ms. Henson have agreed to color their hair blue!   Look for pictures on the district website.  For more information go to the National Jr. Beta Club website:  www.betaclub.org
