Hello Camels:

Welcome Back! My name is Adam Ritter, Principal at Campbell County High School. We are very excited to start the 2016 / 2017 school year and are looking forward to working with all students to prepare them for their future pursuits.

Campbell County High School has received many recognitions recently including again being named by the Washington Post as one of the Most Challenging High Schools in the Nation along with being recognized as One of the Best Public High Schools by U.S. News and World Report. CCHS has also achieved the Kentucky School of Distinction classification. All of these accolades come as a result of our teacher’s hard work in providing rigorous and challenging courses along with students challenging themselves to prepare for their future endeavors.

During the 2016 / 2017 school year CCHS students will again be taking the CERT test which is an ACT-like test that will give students predictive information for the ACT along with feedback and instructions on how to improve. Last year was the first year for students to take this test and students and teachers found it very helpful. This assessment was instrumental in developing ACT prep activities which resulted in an increase in our ACT Composite score to a 21.6.

New for the 2016 / 2017 school year will be the use of Schoology. Schoology is an integrated learning management system that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for communication. With Schoology, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take tests, write academic blogs and more. Parents will be able to view their student’s activity within the Schoology platform. CCHS is very excited about this program. More information will be coming soon on how to gain access to this wonderful instructional tool.

Our administrative team welcomes Mrs. Holly Phelps as our new Assistant Principal. We are very excited to have her as part of our team and know she will have a huge impact on our school in her new role. Mrs. Phelps will be entering her 11th year in education, the last six teaching math at CCHS. During her time here she has also held various roles including Assistant Cross Country Coach and Prom Coordinator. Mrs. Phelps is a graduate of Brossart High School and a life-long resident of Campbell County and is very excited to continue to be a part of this distinguished school.

At CCHS we are very committed to the success of all of our students and are here to help in any way that we can.
